Chalk Technique

I tried a technique today with chalks which gives quite a subtle effect. This was done using chalks in two or three colours sponged onto black card, then an image was stamped using Versamark ink pad which lifts the chalk off leaving an imprint. The stamp needs to be a fairly solid design and I used a Laura Ashley flower spray. The card was finished with some embossing and ribbon.

Oops!!!

Well - senior moment or what??

The challenge site is for Daisy, Dandelion and all their friends and I've just realised that although this golfer is a Papermania stamp I don't think he is included amongst the friends so I've spent time making the wrong card. Never mind it will come in handy for someone who is keen on golf and it is brightly coloured!! Would you believe it wasn't until I'd posted the link on their blog that I realised what I'd done.

Daisy and Dandelion Challenge 14

Daisy and Dandelion challenge 14 is a sketch to be done in bright summery colours. My image was coloured with Inktense pencils and water brush.

Pink and Orange

The monthly challenge for June at Graphicus is 'Exotic and/or pink and orange'. I think my card probably only fits the colour scheme but that is fine. I stamped the bird image with Versafine black onto glossy card which had been alcohol-inked. Background paper is Artylicious with the addition of some orange swirls using the tail of one of the birds on a bird plate . The text is also from a bird plate and is stamped using spiced marmalade distress ink and clear embossed. All stamps are by Elusive Images. Luckily I had some satin ribbon in just the right colour.

Birthday Celebrations

The Penny Black Challenge team are celebrating their first birthday this week and the challenge was to make a celebration card of some kind. I love these frog (toad actually) stamps and thought they looked in celebratory mood. There are lots of goodies on offer too so do have a look.
